When I started in 1975, all three of my cheap fifa 15 coins assistant coaches taught 8 to 10
credit hours and were either head coaches or assistant coaches for other sports
on campus. When I left, I had arranged it so that my assistants were still
teaching half loads but had no coaching duties beyond football.
Today in the Jayhawk Conference, most teams have four or five full-time
assistant coaches along with graduate assistants who live in the residence
halls. Each year 40 to 50 players in the conference sign Division I scholar-
ships. I believe that the quality of assistant coaches is what has allowed teams
from the Jayhawk Conference to win so many national championships.
Support staff is always important to any successful program. When I started
at Coffeyville, I had no support staff. The football staff handled its own
correspondence and other office duties. We had no trainers or equip- ment
managers. Over the years, I developed and implemented a system that included a
full-time secretary, a trainer on staff, and an equipment manager.
I was fortunate to have had great support buy fifa 15 coins from members of the board of
trustees at Coffeyville. Dr. Herb George and Maurice Weinberg were strong
supporters of the athletic programs. They understood the value of strong
athletic programs, especially football. Other supporters of football on the
board included David Dennis and, most recently, Dickie Rolls. The college
president is also important. Over the years, I have learned that a college
president who wants a strong football program will do the things required to
achieve a goal of being the best in the conference. Dr. Dan Kinney was one of
the best junior college presidents that a football coach could wish for. A week
never went by that Dr. Kinney did not call or stop by my office to ask what he
could do to improve the program. Having the support of both the college
president and board of trustees is an important part of building and sustaining
a quality football program.
